We are back!

For some time salecyclist.com was down. It was not because of any technical issues. It was more of a human error: we forgot to renew our domain and one greedy company took it and tried to get us to pay thousands from it. As this is more of a hobby than a real business we just had to let it go for a while. Once we did not buy it back the company realized that it is not worth of keeping and we got it back the regular way once they did not renew the domain theirselves.

But now the site is better than before and we have updated it to work better and faster. We also went through the webstores and removed the ones that did not have any deals for us anymore. So now you should be seeing just the deals that are active. We also fine tuned the product categorizations a bit to make it easier to find the bikes in the right places. It is not that easy as the feeds they provide are all differently structured and some of the stores do not offer the regular price with the current sale prices so we cannot tell if they are on sale or not.

Most of the bikes are categorized but there are always some that cannot fit to any category for some reason. Usually there is something missing in the product info making it impossible to automatically put them to pre-defined categories. As a fail safe we have a “Bike” category that all of the ones without a specific category fall into. You can find these bikes here. It is also a good place for us to see if some product data is mapped incorrectly if there is a lot of bikes in that category.

We are glad to be back and we hope we can help as many people as possible to find the bike deal of their dreams! In the future we will try to improve the site even further and maybe some day we will have deals from other cycling products too, not just bikes.
